It is amazing to have so many great artists all in the same room. Go check it out they will be at the Community Club(War Memorial Building) in Shepherdstown all weekend.
It takes a community to get things done, and this community has got it down. Friday night the exhibit Alchemy: Earth opened. This exhibit is part of an ongoing series of exhibits. The exhibit is located at The Town Run Brewery for about 2 weeks. Along with this series are many things in the works that I hope to share soon. The lighting in this location is a bit challenging to photograph the art and do it justice so the best thing to do is go check out the exhibit.
No matter your point of view, Saturday across the country was one for the history books. The day was truly moving even if you weren't there, the spirit of the day was felt everywhere.
I had a lovely time being a part of this exhibit and being surrounded by amazing artists and people. The following photos are from the reception.
My roots are in photography, but what keeps me breathing is the process of creation no matter the medium. The clay or paint on your hands, the vision that comes to you through the lens, the tune that plays in your head; all of it is what links artist together. There is a certain kind of spirit in the room when you are surrounded by art and creators. These things are what motivate me and many other artists gather and create for the good and the positive. Without nature and earths riches we would not exist. Without water we could not survive.
My family and I went to see the Budweiser Clydesdales at the Charles Town Racetrack on Saturday. The weather was a bit chilly but overall we enjoyed seeing all of the horses hitched up and taken on a brief parade around the parking lot.
